Our Story

Melbourne’s Non-Surgical Spine & Joint Care Experts

Living with back pain, joint problems, or a musculoskeletal condition that hasn’t responded to treatment can be exhausting — physically, mentally, and emotionally. You may have tried medication, rested, pushed through, or been told that surgery is your only option. At Cornerstone Medical Group, we believe there is almost always more that can be done before surgery becomes the answer.

We are a Melbourne-based allied health clinic that prides itself in evidence-based, non-surgical care for spine and joint conditions. Our approach brings together chiropractic and physiotherapy treatments, spinal decompression therapy, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, laser therapy, rehabilitation and much more — coordinated around you, your diagnosis, and your goals.

A Different Kind of Health Clinic

Cornerstone was built on a simple but important idea: that patients deserve more than a brief appointment, a generic exercise sheet, and a referral they weren’t expecting. They deserve time, clarity, and a treatment plan that makes sense for their life.

We don’t offer a one-size-fits-all model. Every patient who walks through our door — or whose door we walk through — receives a thorough assessment, an honest conversation about what we find, and a structured plan designed around their specific condition, goals, and circumstances.

Our clinicians work collaboratively, drawing on a range of techniques and technologies to deliver care that is both clinically grounded and practically focused. We measure success not by the number of appointments you attend, but by how much better you function in your daily life.

What we treat

At Cornerstone we’re able to assist in addressing a wide variety of spine and joint conditions — particularly those that have become persistent, complex, or resistant to conventional treatment. We commonly work with patients experiencing:

  • Chronic and acute back pain — including disc herniation, sciatica, facet joint syndrome, and degenerative disc disease
  • Neck pain and cervicogenic headache — including whiplash, cervical radiculopathy, and postural-related conditions
  • Joint pain — including knee osteoarthritis, meniscus and ligament injuries, frozen shoulder and impingement, and hip dysfunction
  • Postural and structural conditions — including scoliosis, hyperkyphosis, and forward head posture
  • Work and sports injuries — including repetitive strain, occupational musculoskeletal pain, and athletic injuries
  • Age-related musculoskeletal decline — including mobility loss, balance impairment, and falls risk in older adults

If you’ve been managing pain for months or years — or if you’ve recently been told surgery is your next step — we encourage you to speak with our team first.

Our Commitment to You

At Cornerstone, we take the word cornerstone seriously. A cornerstone is the foundation on which everything else is built. We believe that when your spine and joints are functioning well — when pain is managed, movement is restored, and your body is supported — everything else in your life becomes more possible.

We are not here to keep you coming back indefinitely. We are here to help you get better, stay better, and understand your body well enough to maintain the gains you make with us. That means honest assessment, clear communication, realistic expectations, and a genuine investment in your outcome.
